Book Project
Here is the front of the directions page for the Character Can Adventure Book Project. This is due March 27th. Please let me know if you need another set of the directions that are on the back of the blue paper and I can get those for you. You will need any sort of can that has a lid for this project. A coffee can, Pringles can, baby formula, etc. If you need a can please let me know and I will try to get one for you. If you happen to have an extra can with a lid it would be great if you could send it in to help with any students that don't have one. Thanks so much and let me know if you have any questions.

Animal Ark Book Sale
As you can see on the March calendar below we will have our used book sale the last week of March. The goal will be to raise $100 in order to adopt an animal from Animal Ark in time for our field trip there in May. Last week we looked at the animals and voted as a class to hopefully adopt either Effie, the arctic fox, or Khan, the white bengal tiger. We have some great books that have been brought in but the more books we have to "sell" the better chance we'll have of raising $100. So please take some time to go through any children's books that you may have at home and send in any that you are no longer using too much or have been read many, many times. :) All of the books will set up as a store and sold for $1 or less. Let me know if you have any questions.

Field Trip Cost
A note went home for our upcoming field trip on Friday stating that the cost is $7. Since booking the field trip the second graders received the opportunity to take a special class while at the museum and we decided to take them up on this opportunity. Because of this we need to add $1 to the cost of the field trip. I'm sorry for the confusion and inconvenience. The cost of the field trip is now $8. Any students who already sent in the $7 will receive coupons when they bring in the extra $1. Any parents that would like to chaperone can just let me know and they will still purchase their tickets at the museum that day. Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions.

We will be going on a field trip to the Discovery Museum on March 12th. The cost for the students is $7 including the museum ticket and bus. A note will be going home soon, but you are more than welcome to pay anytime. Please let me know if you'd like to chaperone. Chaperones will purchase their own tickets at the museum that morning. We will be gone from approximately 9:15-11:45.

Valentine's Galore
Today was the Valentine Party and I think the kiddos enjoyed it. Pizza, cards, secret admirers, candy, ice cream floats, balloons, music. What more could you ask for?

Spectra Art
Mrs. Freeman came into do another wonderful Spectra Art lesson with us on Friday. We learned all about Henri Rousseau and how to draw backgrounds. All these awesome art projects that our class has made during Spectra Art will be on display in our classroom during Open House, Tuesday, March 12th from 6-7:30.

Valentines
Here is the list of names for making valentines in case you misplaced it. Our Valentine's Day party is on Thursday at lunch time. Students will not need to bring a lunch that day, but may want a snack for later.
Also, our first book project is due this Wednesday. Busy, busy week! Have a good weekend!

Old Homework Folders
The folders that were used for homework the first half of the school year were sent home in the Friday Folders on Friday. These can now be kept at home and or thrown away if you'd like. We will be using a new one (that was sent home for first time last week). Please don't send the old ones back.
Enjoy your Sunday afternoon! I'll be watching the commercials and waiting for the half-time show and I guess rooting for the Niners. :)
