Projects, Projects!

We have lots of projects coming up in the next few weeks.  The leprechaun traps are a go after tallying the votes.  The specifics of that assignment and the expectations will be going home the week before St. Patrick's Day.  They will be due on Wednesday, March 16th, the day before St. Patty's Day.  Also due on the 16th are the Realistic Fiction Fancy File Folder Book Projects.  Please make them fancy (lot of effort) as this will be a large part of the grade.  I have talked with the children about the fact that these projects are due on the same day and we have discussed the fact that they should get started and not wait until the last minute.  If anyone needs a file folder for their book project, I have plenty that I can give.  Also, if your child would like to put their "book project" book in their book bag they are welcome to do that after they finish their current book.  Below is the book project assignment.  Please let me know if you have any questions or need the other instructions that were on the back.

Lunchroom Crack Down

Our class's behavior in the lunchroom has not been the greatest the last few weeks.  In an effort to change this pattern anytime the duty teacher in the lunchroom has to discipline students from our class  they will be flipping their card to orange when they return to the classroom.  The students are aware of this new rule and they know that they are not allowed to "buy back" those cards as well.  Hopefully you will not see any orange card flips on their weekly red behavior note, but if there are that is why.  This new rule will begin tomorrow.

DON'T FORGET!

Our used book sale to raise money for an Animal Ark adoption will start tomorrow and go through this Friday.  The children will have the opportunity to buy what is left next week as well.  Please bring some money to buy some books to help support this cause.  We have so many great books to choose from thanks to all the wonderful donations!

We had a great Valentine's celebration at school today despite the craziness of the weather outside.

Don't forget that our Valentine's party is during lunch on Monday.  You will not need to bring a lunch unless you will not be attending the party.  Also, make sure you bring your valentines in for everyone if you haven't already done that.

BOOK SALE!

Our used book sale will be Wednesday, February 16th- Friday, February 18th.  We will be setting up a "shop" that includes all the wonderful books that were brought in over the last couple months and allowing student to purchase them in order to try to raise enough money to adopt an animal from Animal Ark. Our goal is to raise $100.  It is still not too late to bring in books!  Please try to send your child to school with some money to participate in the book sale...even if it's just a dollar or 50 cents.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Need a Can?

Let me know if you need a can for your book project.  I have a few extras.  If you happen to have an extra can, go ahead and send it in in case someone needs it.  One more week to work on your character cans!  Don't forget to make sure your story sequence strips are attached to each other and in order.
