Special Visitors...


Last week we had some very special visitors in the classroom!

All the kids were so excited to meet Caden and see their teacher! 

Your child should have come home with a biography book for their upcoming report.  If you would like to change your child's person, please let me know (as we do not want duplicate people).  During this time, you may choose to replace the book in your child's homework Book Bag with the biography to read nightly.  

Because there are so many events in May (and a conflict on May 24th), the May and Summer Birthday Celebration Parties will be combined and will be held on Thursday, May 31st from 2:00-3:00pm.  

Many thanks to Miss Shelia for helping us explore felting.  Ask your child about this interesting process.  

Mrs. Fredrickson will be teaching class on May 21st, and she will return on June 4th to teach the final week of school.  

Caden Christopher

Well things are beginning to settle down at home with Caden.  He's beginning to get into a routine and his favorite thing to do is eat for sure :)  I thought I'd share some pictures of the last week...

Caden Christopher arrived at 5:18 pm. He weighs 7 lbs 4 oz and is 19 inches long!

Ta-Ta For Now

Well tomorrow (Wednesday the 21st) will be my last day of work for a few weeks.  Mrs. Lorenz will be my sub and I want to assure you that she is amazing.  I've had her daughter in my class and have been working with her over the past few weeks so she knows how my classroom runs and everything should transition smoothly.  I will have access to my email; however, will most likely be extremely busy and preoccupied with other things so you will want to email Mrs. Lorenz at jillindal@gmail.com with any questions or concerns about class. 

I will be back at the end of this year, but am not sure at this point exactly when.  Both Mrs. Lorenz and I will be posting on the blog over the next few weeks.  I will see you soon!

Solar Grasshoppers

Last Friday we were lucky enough to have Paul's parents come in and do a fun activity with solar powered grasshoppers.

The students followed the directions in order to build their grasshoppers.

And then...Ta-Da! They were done!

Now it was time to go outside and try them out.  

Time for some grasshopper races and even some grasshopper hair-do's.

It was quite the fun afternoon!

Spell-a-Thon

Just a reminder that all Spell-a-Thon envelopes are due back this Friday.  The students will be taking the Spell-a-Thon spelling test as well on the regular class test this Friday.
