Animal Ark

The permission slips for our Animal Ark field trip went home today on bright orange papers.  The field trip is on May 20th and costs $7 per student.  The money and the permission slip (the bottom of the orange paper) need to be returned no later than May 13th.  We can take many chaperones to Animal Ark; however, the cost to be a chaperone is $5 and I will need to know if you'd like to chaperone by the 13th as well.  You can have the option of riding the bus or following in your car (in the past some parents have chosen to car pool because it's such a long drive).  More details about the field trip will be coming home soon including lunch, the gift shop and arriving to school early that day (the bus will be leaving right at 9:00).  Please let me know if you have any questions at this point.  Go ahead and start sending in the money and forms as soon as possible.  The kids are so excited to go and see Effie, the Arctic Fox we adopted.

Piggie Pics

Well, better late than never.  Here are some cute pictures of the kiddos at the music program from a few weeks ago.

Here they are waiting to go in.

Up on the stage and ready to go.

Breana as a peddler.

Jacqueline as a narrator.

Tristan as the Big Bad Wolf.
I love the second one where he's scaring the kindergartners in the first row.

New Markers!

Thank you so much to all the parents that chipped in to buy us a new class set of smelly markers!

Reading Week

Reading Week is next week and each day will have a special theme.  Refer to the specifics on the paper Mrs. Benesch (the librarian) put in this week's Friday Folder.  Here are the basics of what the kids will be doing each day:
Monday: wear a shirt with some sort of writing on it
Tuesday: wear sweats and/or sweatshirt
Wednesday: we will be making bookmarks in class
Thursday: wear crazy socks, roll up those pants so we can see! :)
Friday: wear a hat, either "normal" or silly

IXL Reward YAY!

Our class has been working hard on IXL since the school started back at the end of January.  We set a goal of 100 hours and we are almost there!  Help us reach the goal by signing into IXL at home.  Each student that does this at home gets coupons each week as well bonus coupons to the students that do the most time and the most minutes.  We only need 8 more hours to earn the big prize that the class will choose.
Let me know if you have any questions.
